Casey Wilson was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He received his first degree in Photography from Colorado Institute of Art located in Denver. While studying at CIA, Casey worked as an intern for Rich Clarkson and Associates, a prominent photography company specializing in sports photography. There Casey was able to pursue one of his favorite subjects for his art: sports. He worked as team photographer for the Colorado Rockies, the Denver Broncos, and worked for NCAA Photography. Casey then moved to Lawrence, Kansas where he was able to further pursue sports photography while freelancing for the Lawrence Journal-World, Reuters, and ALLSPORT. During this time, Casey covered a number of area sporting events including Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals games.
After leaving Lawrence, Casey moved to Emporia, Kansas as a fulltime photographer for the Emporia Gazette. The move enabled him to pursue a subject that is now his true passion, the natural setting of the Flint Hills of Kansas. Casey is able to explore and capture the beauty of the wildlife, landscapes, sunsets and unpredictable weather that are so unique to Kansas and to the central plains. Casey enjoys the tranquility of nature, and he takes pride in the natural beauty and diverse subject matter that Kansas provides for his work.
